Who we are?
Hispanic Marketing Incorporated is a marketing and communications firm established in Greenville, South Carolina, in 2000. It was founded to help businesses in South Carolina to tap into the growing Hispanic market as well as to assist Hispanics integrate and prosper within the English speaking community.
Hispanic Marketing Inc. concentrates on publications, events and festivals.
Hispanic Marketing’s target market includes American businesses interested in the Hispanic community as well as Hispanic-owned businesses.
Our main product, La Nación Hispana (formerly La Opinión Hispana), is a free weekly newspaper distributed in the Upstate of South Carolina. La Nación Hispana reaches over 8,000 Hispanics directly and a potential of 30,000 indirectly.
We also publish La Guía Hispana (The Spanish Phone Book), the first commercial phone directory and service guide made for the Hispanic community in South Carolina, with 20,000 editions printed annually.
Additionally, Hispanic Marketing promotes every year the Colombian Independence Day Festival and the Summer Hispanic Festival. The event is a great opportunity to show the American community and people from other nationalities, the culture and values not only of Colombia but of all the Hispanic countries as well. Colombians are the second largest group of Hispanics in the Upstate, after Mexicans.
The Hispanic market
*The nation’s Hispanic population reached 45.5 million on July 1, 2007, or 15.1 percent of the estimated total U.S. population of 301.6 million, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
*South Carolina has one of the fastest-growing Hispanic populations in the United States, with an estimated growth of 60 percent between 2000 and 2007. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there were 170,000 Hispanics living in South Carolina in 2007.
*Hispanic buying power in the United States was $863.1 billion in 2007, according to the Selig Center from the University of Georgia.
*South Carolina was among the top ten states, ranked by the rate of growth of Hispanic buying power, over 2000-2005. Its growth was 499%. Hispanic buying power in South Carolina was 2.1 billion in 2007.
*Composition of the Hispanic population in the Upstate of South Carolina: 55% Mexicans, 18% Colombians, 12% Central Americans, 15% South Americans, Puerto Rican and others.
*The Hispanic population grows at a rate of five times faster than the rest of the U.S. population combined.
*Nearly 67 million people of Hispanic origin are projected in the nation’s population by 2050.
*Hispanics prefer to buy from advertisement in their language.
